Thoughs of the Pass [-]

The New Orleans Cadets Southernaires practiced at the old Stadium at City Park on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 until 9:00 pm. L.A. Gilmore was indeed director and wasn't a bad sort. Doc Cupero who was also a Dentist and music teacher at S.J. Peter's Jr. High School was the music instructor. I was a member along with my older sister who was in the color guard. It was an all male Corps with an all girl Color Guard. Our Drum major at the time as a young man named "Pee Wee". That's about all I can remember for now. Old age I guess but, they were the best days of my life.....
